    Default Is it just me?

This is more for people who own pure bred dogs...
but do you guys get annoyed when random people reference your dogs as mutts? or is it just me? haha
i just find it really annoying when people make comments like-
"oh thats a nice mutt you have got there"
"Is that your mutt in that photo"
    "oh look at that mutt"
It just drives me up the wall... maybe i'm just too sensitive about it though... haha

Hi Ruby, i think you'll find in the US they use the term pitbull or pitty in this case to label all the dog fighting breeds, SBT, Amstaff and APBT

Years ago, I used to get annoyed - but now - I really can't be bothered ! The 'general public's' total lack of knowledge on a heap of areas including 'anything dog' only leaves me shaking my head in disbelief.

My way of looking at it now - is that - my pup doesn't understand english - it is only a word these people are using. As long as their manner towards my pup is friendly - I just leave it at that !

You know and love your pups and know what they are - so does it really matter in the whole scheme of things ?

Lol I haven't had that happen to me, but I would probably get annoyed! lol what use to annoy me was people saying "No way is Harley a AmStaffy, he is far to big. Must be ridgeback or something" lol they really must not of had any idea what an AmStaff was! Thinking all Staffies = Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

    Maddogdodge, too sensitive bro.
Whilst it can and is used to describe a bitsa, it is also a generic slang word used when people talk about dogs in general and they do not mean to malign the dog they are talking about. I often refer to our BC's as my mutts.

No point getting annoyed by it so embrace it and use it yourself. You will soon not even notice someone using the word.

    Thanks for your input mate
i'm one of those people who tends to get irritated easily by stupid little things!
    eg: someone chewing too loudly
people referring my dogs as mutts
someone standing too close to me
... silly little things like that
i cant really help it... its just the way i am... haha

No it doesn't bother me, but not many people can mistake a Whippet for anything else, so if they say mutt it's in a general term meaning dog.

I often say mongrel, "what's the rotten little mongrel got up to while I was out". That sort of thing.
