Default Whats thier Pedigree name ??

Just out of pure noseyness...I'm curious what the purebreed dogs out there have as a pedigree name.
I'm just guessing that it's called a pedigree name....correct me if i'm wrong please.

Mojo's is - 'Guardville Majestic Mojo'

    Sire - 'Guardville Dream Catcher'

    Dam - 'Guardville Bewitched'

I was chatting with the breeder when she mention if i had any ideas for a name that was along the 'mystical' type of names she uses. So when i said my street name was 'Majestic' we both agreed it was a winner. Kinda stoked i got to have some imput on his name like that.

Not that i've ever referred to him as Majestic Mojo !!! He'd probably bite me for that.......kinda like 'dog' from Footrot Flats...ya never hear him called his real name. Not unless ya want ya tounge ripped out LOL.

    What's yours called ?

In the agility competition catalogs - Frosty has one of the shortest names.

I think it's a bit like race horse names. And boat names. Some are very clever, and some are boring. And all of them are more interesting if you know a bit about why they're named the way they are.

Whats the go with that Hyacinth ???
Do they have a special name for the agility dogs or is Frosty competing against a lot of purebreeds who's owners use thier full names.??? What happens if theres another Frosty competing aswell ? Would they add your surname or somthing ?
I'm still yet to visit a dog show too. I'm guessing they use thier pedigree names when competing ???

yes the ANKC competition dog sports have a lot of pedigree dogs in them. And when they write the name down - it's the whole name. And sometimes it's hard to pick which dog has what nick name.

Ie there might be something like

goldclaw fillagree pretty toes and that dog is called "abby". and you're trying to find the next dog to run in the class - and there's this mighty mouthful for the dog name, and only a surname that you've never used for the human half of the team. Not easy. And of course they don't associate themselves with the run number they're wearing - cos that's different every time they go in the ring.

I feel like they need an extra column on the list - "what to yell to get the competitor's attention".

We have a few different ones but nothing to extravagant. Our borzoi litter last year was our first so we used "A" names. And we chose a Greek mythology theme. So we had Apollo, Atlas, Alexander, Athena, Aphrodite etc etc - 12 names in all!! All with out prefix "Alyosha" in front.

Although one boy that went overseas ended up not being Greek but "Alyosha African Steppes at Svora" which is a bit of a mouthful!

They dad is Mistraka Sgt Pepper. Our others are pretty simple, except maybe our black tricolour boy who is Cordova Mi Black Knight.

Our new pup is a teeny fluffball - a Pomeranian. His papers aren't back but we are hoping for "Partipaws It and a Bit".

    I like theme names.

My 2010 litter came about shortly after moving to get a fresh start after a couple of strenuous years for various reason. So the names of the pups had meaning to us but not necessarily obvious to others. For instance my husband had a saying "it's all good" so that became one, another was "new beginnings", that sort of thing.

My 2011 litter I chose to have one word from the sire's and one work from the dams registered name. Thank goodness she only had 6 pups because I was running out of combinations.
