Cool Babysitting a dog.. wish us luck!!

So my in laws are going away and Judd - their 6 year old golden lab is coming over to stay with us for 10 days as of tomorrow.
Hooch and Judd are best friends and play together until they drop dead (even then they are both on their backs playing).

No idea what to expect... hopefully Hooch will not go back to his destructive days and we can all sleep at night.
Abit worried but happy for Hooch as I know he will have a blast playing with his best friend.

Haha, love it, Hooch is so gorgeous, what a handsome boy!!

Has he slowed down in his destructive ways??

He absolutely did nothing wrong for a very long time now!!
I think it was just an adjustment period. Granted he does not stay in the house on his own anymore. We put him out in the back yard when we go but he stopped digging, he stopped eating our inside/outside furniture (thank you crib stop!)... no more night prowling around the house... probably because now he is sleeping with my son in his bed, so why go anywhere!
Took us a few months to sort eachother out but he is just the dream dog now. Seriously, I would not change a thing about him. Best personality, best dog ever!!! And my son has a "brother" as he is an only child.
Saying that, game changes tomorrow - I'll be back with an update!!

    Love the photo!

"I hereby promise to not cause any destruction and to be a well behaved, perfect pooch"

Good luck with the visitor! We went and visited my parents and their dog a few weeks ago. Mum said after we left her dog slept for 1 week straight. Hopefully Hooch will be too tired to be destructive but the bad thing about 2 dogs is that if they decide to be destructive, it's twice as bad! I've recently discovered crib stop too... Excellent stuff! Our dogs (Molly) chewed through the foxtel cables under the house so they're now coated in a very thick layer of the stuff and the dogs don't go near them anymore

It's awesome for an only dog to get a playmate come stay for that long.

It is very possible that Hooch will show off his destructive skills the first time they're left alone. Banjo did that when we had her JRTx over. I found it kind of hilarious to imagine her dragging stuff around the house and yard and ripping into them seemingly to impress her little friend. And even more funny that the little friend looked so very guilty when I came home even though I was sure he didn't do it. It only lasted one day though and we had this JRT for nearly 3 weeks.

Have fun with your 2 dogs!
