MMJ. I beg you not to do what I did.
I am guilty of letting a dog suffer for too long because I selfishly wanted him around for longer. I can never really forgive myself for this.
I told my mother my story and a few other people and due to my story they did put to sleep their beloved pets when it was really time and so they do not have to live with the guilt as I do.

    Hey Choppa,

Jacks still going ok at this stage, still swollen but doesn't seem to be suffering at all. Took him to the park yesterday and although he only brought the ball back twice for me to throw it, he spent the best part of an hour strolling around enjoying a good sniff andd the occasional roll around on the ground. Me, i'm holding up well, it was a year ago when the vet told me he was likely to die very soon, so i've had plenty of time to get used to the idea, for now i just want to ensure he enjoys whatever time he has left.

    Hi Di,
I can assure you i won't let him suffer, if either he starts to look like he's in pain or his quality of life drops such that he isn't interested in going to the park, we'll be off to the vets. Thanks.

Hey Choppa, he's still swollen but be actually put in some big effort today to chase his ball, although it was only a few times. He's just had a feed of snapper(caught fresh this morning) and roast potatoes so he thinks its Christmas lol

haha yeah snapper season here in melbs is just kicking off, i don't mind eating a bit of it but no huge fan ... Jack was the lucky recipient of what i had left when i got sick of the taste lol

ETA : the little bugger should be bringing me beer and taking out my empties after me getting up at 3.30am and then battling stupidly rought conditions this morning for just one decent fish hahaha
