    Default Meika

    Hi everyone,

As you all probably know, our dog Meika was a pound puppy and we have no idea what breeding she is. Yesterday at the park we met a dog who looked identical to her, we haven't ever seen a look-a-like before because she is such a unique looking dog, the only difference is that he was brown where she is black and he had less spots. I got chatting to the owner who said he was 2yrs old (the same age the vet thinks Meika is) and she also said there were some black puppies in his litter. His mum was a pure cavalier and his dad was a kelpe cross jack russell.

I know that it's impossible to ever know but I was wondering if maybe they could be litter mates and like I said, she is such a unique looking dog so it's very rare to find one that looks like her, especially in the same town. The only thing that's making me doubt it a bit is the fact that she's spotty, are any of the breeds mentioned earlier able to have the 'spots'?

Oh, and his name was "Mikah" I had to have a little giggle at that, Meika and Mikah!

I've included some photos and it would be great if you guys could tell me if you see any of these breeds in her! We've always guessed that she was a spaniel cross cattle dog but have never been (and never will be) positive

I don't know enough about breeds to comment, but I think she's gorgeous! My girl is half Cavalier and her preferred relaxation position is stretched out on her belly just like Meika in the 5th pic!

You said Meika was a pup when you got her, approx how old was she, and did she have the black spots then?

I love when they relax like that... It reminds me of superman! She wasn't quite a puppy when we got her, pound puppy sounds better than pound dog haha we got her in November last year, so she would've been around 12 months old and has always had the spots

Here is our little foster girl, Ginny.

She has a bit of ticking on her back but mainly dalmation spots.

Ginny is gorgeous! She looks similar to Meika but different ears - Meika's are more spaniel-like

There was another one that looked lots like Frosty in the Noosa Messenger - clipping posted on AWDRI facebook.

And there was a member here who had one Megs or Megan or something (the user id - not dog name).

I'm familiar with the ACD- lived with a few but wanted to know if anybody has had any experiences with the kelpie, cavalier or jack russell and if they maybe see any of these breeds in Meika
