    Default Catching Foods

Is anyone else's dogs unable to catch food in their mouths? Harley can catch food like a champ, he doesn't need to even be directly looking at it and he can get it. Bella on the other hand doesn't even try, I will chuck food to her and it just hits her in the face or land in front of her she is the first dog I have ever come across that has not been able to catch food! Ma little weirdo puppy

LOL this made me laugh out loud literally Jadie!! I have tried this with Oskar, like if i am cutting up meat for dinner, i will throw some to him, and it hits him in the face and he waits for it to drop on the floor...i thought it was a natural like instinct thing for the dog to catch food, maybe it is a learned thing.

Haha thats normally when I do it too. This morning I threw her some bacon and it was sitting on her back and she was doing circles wondering where it had gone!

Lol You know they saying "Did your mum drop you on your head when you were a baby" I ask Bella if her Mum sat on her head when she was a pup to make her so silly

My family sometimes accuse my dog of being "extra dalmation" when she's being extra silly.

She's quite good at chasing and catching a ball - strangely - when she's running in the same direction it is going - she can pull it out of the air. Not so good when it's coming straight at her, not too hard to hit her between the eyes... so I have to be careful about that. She's not very good at catching food that is travelling towards her either.

She's quite good at catching food I drop from my hip when she's walking next to me. Mostly I try to stick it directly into her mouth but sometimes I miss but she catches it anyway. Again - food and dog travelling in the same direction. She's also quite good at headbutting hands holding treats and catching the resulting falling food.

She's crap at catching flies but unfortunately - can catch a bee if she tries. ARGH. And she can't catch mice or rats. Actually that's more like a "won't" than "can't".

The giant pug wont either.....thats why i never bothered with any bubble photos...he just let them hit the ground and then tried to eat the ones that didnt pop.

Everyday he gets a bone or a pigs ear and he just stands there with his mouth open and i have to jam it in his gob...he dosnt even like taking food from me...so gentle, never snatches which is good i guess. Lazy Mastiffs.....Mojo is the dog version of Garfield. Why run when you can walk, why jump when it'll fall, why wake up when you can sleep and his favourite...why climb in the car if dad'll pick me up and break his back doing it!!

Once he finally has something like a bone though...you'll never get it off him though. Methinks these lazy dogs of ours arent silly........to bloody smart for us silly humans who are wrapped around thier hairy paws.
