Hey- you're human! Any one with even half a heart would find it difficult. Yes, establishing leadership is important, but not so important that you deny your humanity.

Don't try to be perfect. Just be you. As long as you are aware of the pitfalls, you'll naturally avoid most anyway. Sophie doesn't expect you to be perfect, she just needs you to be you.

Poor little mite. I think you're doing a fantastic job! And I know it's a complex issue and you need to have strategies in place to put her on the road to becoming a well socialised, happy and well mannered dog. But try not to overthink it! (I'm a great over-analyser myself sometimes). I think as long as you set boundaries and are consistent when it comes to the basics, it is perfectly fine to molly coddle her for a bit. She clearly needs lots of TLC to regain her faith in humanity.

You are doing an amazing job... Sophie B knows you will always be there for her.

Just keep being you. And if that means you've got to be Ms D Ross for a while you go girl...Remember the rest of the song "STOP... In the name of Love..."
“All his life he tried to be a good person. Many times, however, he failed. For after all, he was only human. He wasn't a dog.”
