I love Great Danes, GSDs, Dalmations, Border Collies and my beloved Kelpie.
Unfortunately out of those, i've only owned a Kelpie.

The only dog other than my girl I would want is a chocolate lab. Either that or get a dog from a pound and not care about the breed

    What's Dulux?

And what in hell is pocket size Beagle?

Yes, I just looove bloodhounds. I'm not sure if I'd like to have one, but I like the way they look and from what I know a little bit about them. American Akita is just stunningly beautiful, but I guess not my kind of dog.

In the end, I love them all, PB's or mixes, but have my favs, of course.

Dulux is a brand of house paint. For many years they used Old English Sheepdogs as their advertising symbol. People started calling OES Dulux dogs and wanting them for all the wrong reasons. People wanted them because they looked cute and didn't realise they are a big dog with a high maintanance coat. There were lots of neglected Dulux dogs dumped in the 1970's. I have a photo somewhere of 10 unwanted OES in one long row of kennels at the animal refuge where I used to work. They ranged in age from a 5 month old pup to a 10 year old. Sad what popularity does to a breed.

Pocket Beagles are or rather were quite an old breed. They were most popular during the Elizabethan era but were known before then in both England and on the continent. They took them hunting in baskets on horseback. It was said ladies could carry one in their pocket. Of course pockets were larger in those days, more like a good sized cloth hand bag. They are about the size of a correct sized Pug, that is the 6 - 8 kg size not the really big ones you often see.

I was actually lucky enough to meet a pocket Beagle way back in 1967. She was about 5 years old and had been desexed as her owner worked in animal welfare. I wanted one for years afterwards but sadly the little girl I met (Emily was her name) was probably one of the last in this country. During the 1980's a group in the UK wanted to re-create the breed and they advertised world wide for any existing pocket Beagles. The only replies they received were from people wanting one. So it appears the breed is now truly extinct.

Yes, I love 'em all as well. I can never get enough of just watching dogs, big small, pedigree, crossbred or so mixed up it's almost impossible to guess what breeds might be there.

There's lots of breeds I love, but I think I'd just have more Borzoi....

    Well... maybe....

Caucasion Ovchartka - just because they are simply awesome, and HUGE

    Tazi, Taigan, Azawakh, Sloughi, Bakhmull.

    And maybe Chortaj....

I have such a soft spot for these ancient and wild sighthounds.

But Borzoi would probably do for me - I can never get enough of them.

Now I just feel silly! Of course, I know that Dulux is house paint
And yes, I've seen many Dulux ads. But just didn't put it all together in my head hahaha

Must say I've never heard of pocket beagles Thx Deer!

Yeah...me too! Never heard of pocket beagles - great info! Deerhound

PS. I forgot to list my very favourite which is Great Dane, but after having lots of health problems with a dane x ( below in my signature) and feeling soooo shattered after loosing her so young, i'm too scared to get a huge size dog again.

Whatever I end up with next will be a rescue.
