Im unsure which dog tags last the longest, as Bernie and Pohm love to eat them + collars off each other. The collar ive sorted with chain for bernie. But never found a dog tag that they wont eat.

My tag is the same as findebs. They are called Red Dingo tags and they do have the lifetime guarantee. Most pet stores & engravers sell them and you can get them direct from Red Dingo Dog id tag if i can recall i bought mine for $16 from a pet store over a year ago and it's still in good nick. I also have the same for the cats in NZ and they lasted 4+ years just unfortunate i had to buy new ones over here (change the numbers). The only thing you have to remember is to give them a good clean, or polish as dirt can get trapped in the writing and make it very hard to read. I give my lot a good clean once a month.

I also bought a new tag of Ebay recently (one of those pretty diamante ones) and it was rubbish. So never again!

I second the boomerang tags. We have them on all 8 collars and only one we lost was when the pup managed to pull one of the older dogs collars off - still have not found that collar. Guarantee the boomerang tag is still on it though.

Thanks for that tip Kuri, I'll polish up the tag tonight (I have an old toothbrush I use for such jobs!). I liked that the name and numbers seem to have been stamped on, the first tag I got the guy's hand-engraving made the last two digits on the phone number really small and hard to read.

On another matter, I'm looking for a good girly collar for a boxer, I don't know if it's because she's brindle, but a lot of people seem to think she's a he ... It's hard to find good quality girly collars for big dogs that don't cost a mortgage payment

    Great advice!
Findeb - I saw these by Red dingo also:
Red Dingo Bones Reflective [RD Reflect Bones] - $0.00 : PawZ.com.au!, Pet id tags and Bling, Australia
    And they are reflective.
I decided to get the Red dingo tags because they are pretty and come with a life time guarantee. However the other tags seem super durable also.

Thanks BG ... off to have a look at the Red Dingo reflective collars ...

KL I must look again at purple leather collars with studs. I've only seen black, brown, red - maybe I'm not looking in the right places ...

Kass I agree that purple is a good colour for brindles and for a girl.

Because her name is Ruby I tend to go for red, but I'm going to do a little looking at paws.com and ebay now...
