What Hya said. Was just going to post you the link to the chemical in Talon: Brodifacoum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Really, really important that she takes it easy as she may be prone to excessive bleeding if she bumps herself. Likewise make sure she doesn't eat anything remotely pointy - no bones that could scratch her stomach etc. Soft food and taking it easy. The Vit K should be continuing for at least 2 weeks.

You forgot to say "Touchwood" so i'll do it for you. I'm superstitious about jinxing.

    Super stoked she's doing OK.

OMG how sad and heartbreaking for you..
Sounds like your dog is going to be ok ..

I do have baits around my property but they
re locked in those big black boxes (key entry)
I guess the only way my dogs could get them is
if a rat died from the poison and my dogs eat the rat.

or if the rat took the poison out of the box for you...

I guess that's similar to if they ate the poison and left the box.

I want one of these to deal with the rat population.

Pretty pricey but look effective other than it looks as though they have to be cleared and reset after each kill - but then so does the original spring trap.
