    Thanks KP for sharing

I like them all - but I'm the more AKC type, just right size for cuddling

I like the ADBA as well, I think there all stunners in there own right.

At 6'3 and with a martial arts back ground I don't get scared very often by dogs unless I have my kids with me or my dog and then I worry about what could happen to them if things got out of hand.

As a mobile detailer I get to meet heaps of people and there dogs and I have had the odd bad experience with pits and owners who tell me there dogs could bite and my response is if you don't want your dog getting hurt put it on a lead! but by far the little dogs I encounter are worse in my experience.

Given how long pitbulls have been banned from showing and importing in Australia - it's a long time since they've been judged or bred to any standard at all. I think the majority of "pitbull" breeders - especially the ones acting illegally - would be quite happy to breed dogs they like the look of, and like the way they act, and that may include very aggressive. Because if they're quite happy to breed illegally, they'd be quite happy to do other illegal things with their dogs - like dog fights.

I don't think there are very many true APBT left in Australia. I think what we've got is the dogs favoured by thugs which could be any kind of cross breed. Any mix of the right looking dog. SBT x boxer, Ridgeback x mastiff etc. crosses of crosses.

Which is why trying to ban them by breed or looks is so stupid.

I have been bitten 3 times all by very small dogs and lunged at several times by the same. So I am most wary around small breeds!
A cheerful medium to large is fine by me. I would take a bullie over a strange chihuahua any day.

A small dog had a go at Oskar today, naturally he stood up for himself. The other people apologised but we felt just as bad, because Oskar has the higher prey drive. I am glad they could see they were in the wrong and that they were nice about it, poor old Oskar usually gets the blame even if another dog initiates a fight. He was still punished and was not let off the leash again while we were at the beach.

I am not a fan of chihuahuas either. I have been with my boyfriend for two years now and I still don't pat his mum's chihuahua, he doesn't like me and I am afraid he will take my finger off.

First look at the owner and how they handle whatever they have, then you know whether or not you need to be afraid

This is that double standard I'm talking about

i've been lucky also where an minor scraps that jack has been involved in the owners of the other dog have realised it was their dog that started it(i'm also lucky that jack is all noise unless the other dog fights back so no damage has ever been done to any other dog). I also like going to the same beach/park every day as i now know lots of the regulars and they know me and my dog and i believe most(all) would be willing to stand up in court and vouch for jacks temperament

I'm not sure I have ever met a true pitbull, but I'm not afraid of any dog just because of the breed. I judge them by their behaviour - or more their owners behaviour.

In the same way as I don't have a problem with pitbulls, I don't have a problem with Chihuahuas or white fluffies. I have a problem with the owners that think that because it's small and cute, it doesn't need to learn manners.

Actually, lately, chihuahuas are growing on me! I have met some lovely ones, which is good, cause the pup I may be getting in a few weeks is a chihuahua cross - and believe me, no dog in my household will be without manners!
