As far as I know, you need some kind of proof that he's yours. At least, that's how it was explained to me by our local council. If you don't have papers, or a microchip (no idea what happened to the collar?), then there's no way to prove he's yours.

Are you certain the dog that has been rehomed is yours?

Snowy, I just found this post on a reptile forum. Someone has adopted a 3 year old male Shih Tzu in Western Australia from "K9 Rescue, Nambeelup WA".

Actually, the photos are different, so perhaps not, but jeeeez, that would have been such a coincedence(sp?)!

I wasn't sure if the photo in this thread was an old photo or something. I know for a fact that my cousins' fluffy dog looks very very different now to how it looked a couple of years ago. I was hoping Snowy could confirm whether or not it is the same dog, because it seems a little bit too much of a coincidence.

I hope for you your Staffy will show up, Obie. I'll watch out for him when I'm in Thornlie area.

I lost my Staffy in Thornlie last July, he never turned up.

It's not my dog, but thank you very much silvershadow for doing that. I really appreciate that. Lucky is maltese & shih tsu crossbreed and is black & white, there is a picture of him in my posts, though it comes up small. I've also been looking to see if someone will post up photos of their new dogs. I will put up more pictures after my work tonight.

Yes he had on the collar with the disconnected number and the description matched. It was our dog
