Thanks Di Dee, yeah all that, hairdressers and doctors surgeries, streetsigns, parks, bus stops, everywhere, schools are next and I want to get her poster distributed by a catalog person or postie, not quite sure how to go about that one.

    Flyers in vet's, shops?
Schools go back soon, school newsletters? Kids are often ones that find lost pets, in a newsletter home it may twig memories of someone who has found and kept a new dog.

Actually that's pretty easy. I'll pm you the contact details you need. Just make sure you have it ready to go, you may need to do the printing yourself.

I hope you find your girl soon.

Probably no help at all where you are but in my small town things are printed, then the post office quotes a delivery price for a designated area.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

6 weeks is a long time, and it isnt... It does depend on where the dog is... I know the frustration....sometimes people pick up a dog and take it home, then after a weeks decide to look for the owners... some suggestions....

Adverts at all vets in the area and surrounding towns, with photo...

Adverts in school newsletters... milkbars.... light poles....

continue to check the pounds, don't call them.... physically go in, you never know if they have the correct description on their records.... make sure the microchip (if done) are notified that the dog is missing, so that it can't be transferred to another name...

Make friends with your local rangers.....very hard I know... but a must....

You can mention in your notice that the dog needs medication from a vet, this will sometime force them to visit a vet, and hopefully you have a notice with the vet prior...

Hope these idea's help... most of all.... don't give up....

Don't know how long you had the dog for or if it knows any other homes...

We had a German Shorthaired Pointer who would regularily try to return to it's previous home, about 40km south of our home, and we'd get calls to go get her, at many points along the way. Eventually she adopted a new family that was home more than we were (pre-school kids, not at school kids) about halfway between. They let us know, and we had to concede.

And one of my friend's dogs - a BC cross, lived at Bathurst, visited Canberra, was found near Yass one day - had decided to take itself home.

So not sure what the towns are around Rocky but that dog could have travelled 100s of km on its own by now or even hitched a lift with a truck driver, so check the shelters at that kind of radius too.

    Hi Hyacinth,
Diva moved in with us a week before we moved to our current house, I don't know if she'd even remember it, I have been past to check anyway, its only a couple of km's.
Sorry about your Pointer, that would be heartbreaking.

So where was Diva before that? Ie before she moved in with you (either house)? Because that's where she'd remember (and before the shelter if there was one).

I suppose you've taken her sister around the streets to see if she can find her? By car (with windows down) or by foot.

Oh sorry, she moved in with us as a puppy, at 6 weeks. Yeah we go walking somewhere different everyday but Bella is not much of a sniffer dog.
