I didn't say ban every new member, just ban the freaken TROLLS.

I am a co- ADMIN at a SBT forum yeah & believe me if some newie joined up & acted like a TROLL then they are banned ASAP, we don't take to TROLLS very lightly at all & we refuse to have our nice reputable SBT forum out there for TROLLS to abuse..

IMO i don't think that newies should have the freedom to just join & TROLL away, it maybe a good idea for new memberships to be approved by "MORGAN" before they can post etc. I know of a few forums that don't allow new memberships to post etc until they have been approved of 1st by the ADMIN.

It is really needed, Morgan, getting beyond a joke now.

Really? I would have thought for common sense reasons all forums were like that. No? Well, that explains a lot then...

In the process of getting a few hidden moderators to look after the forum as i cant be online 24/7.

And in the past 2 months or so there has been a massive influx of traffic and posts so i will be getting some help now which should allow us to control the forum better.

Thank you Morgan. The time-wasters and ppl deliberately abusing this forum are getting distressing.

I really agree with this - when they first came on I sent through about 8 reports. I do not agree with people calling other people names. It is uncalled for and does not look good for new guests. There also a few teenagers (which I am sure swear to some degree) on this forum that should not be reading the language.

This I also agree with. When I came back on the morning after (at 5.30am, I think) I was hoping that I would see 'Banned' under the posters name, but I didn't. I understand that Morgan has a life but seeing as the forum has taken off then he really does need to do something.

Maybe you need to change the access levels?

first they only see the intro forum
then after 2 posts (one to start a thread, and one to reply to what has been posted) they get access to one part of the forum, then 10 to see the other part and so on... people might give up trolling if they can not access all of the forum

or make it so they can SEE the forums, but not post till X amount of posts.

I agree with the second sentence. Let them see the forum but don't let them post in ALL the threads until they have posted ?? times in other ones. Then that would be easy to check that all is ok before letting them go elsewhere.
