    Be calm and relaxed yourself, don't pat her, it only ever makes puppies worse when going thru this phase.

    On leash when around people other dogs, I'd just stand your ground while on the leash until she settles, let her meet and greet when she calms.

    i'd be tempted to give the puppy enough lead to stand straight and move around a bit, sit, but not jump, and stand on the lead, so puppy can't jump... and then reward heaps if puppy makes any other choice except trying to jump.

    You'd have to be careful doing this - i woudn't if the puppy panics or tries pull backwards (out of their collar) Frosty has never learned she can escape this way. she always pulls facing away from me...

    We have a walking harness as she slips her collar with great ease. I think it is the narrow border collie head or something..lol
