    habitats.

until Murphy has done the training in at least 20 different habitats, at least half of those with the wife, he hasn't really learn it or generalised it. Ie you only train him in the back yard with you, and with you at club - that's only two habitats.

I do in the back yard, in the lounge, in the kitchen (in front of dog's dinner), at the park next to the school, at the park next to the railway line, at the park next to the hockey field and the park next to the other hockey fields, at the southern beach, the central beach, the northern beach, the very southern beach, and the park next to the dog club and the dog club, and various other dog club when there are agiltiy comps on.

I don't do off lead stuff at all those places, but most of them I do some heel work and some distraction work. We were at AWL re-uninon at wigley reserve last sunday and they had sausage - so I broke that up for some distraction training... not to mention all the other dogs that wanted sausage too, and there's frosty just looking at it waiting for me to let her have some. If you can hold Murphy's attention in the face of fresh sausage in a park full of dogs... lunging at them won't be a problem.
