Thread: This Guy is a Dead Set Toss Bag!!

There is an old thread on here that I have posted links to the videos etc that you may want to look at BDL. CM does use check chains, e collars, prongs & dominant dog collars.

Dominant dog collars basically strangle the dog. Literally choke the air out of them when the trainer lifts the dog off it's feet (CM does this a LOT).

CM is worse than the guy you've shown because he continues to correct AFTER the dog has ceased the behaviour or has complied with his direction.

I appreciate Cesar Milan. He will take on dogs which would otherwise be PTS. He advocates for APBT's and he loves dogs. I love how he also shows that the main thing is to keep your dogs active. Rather than just making them sit and lay down.. take them for a full blown run. Chuck some skates on and let them go for it. He's great.

I didnt say he didnt use any of those.. Thou everytime I have seen a check chain used he takes it off and uses the leash for a collar.

I have seen him use prong collars and when used by professionals I think they can be a great training tool to problem dogs.

I have actually had one used on my arm years ago when I was studying animal attending at tafe. I have honestly bought a sex toy that gave me more of a sting then that thing.

I will repeat, I do not use, follow etc ALL of His techniques. The whole dominance thing doesnt work with us, as when I played around with it, Ruby really went into a shell. Her personality isnt suited for it!

Wether you agree with his training or not the fact is he uses his position of "celebrity" to do great things for the animal world. His willing to get bitten to try what he thinks can fix a very troubled dog.

Lots of trainers take on dogs who would be otherwise put to sleep.
Too many people think Cesar is the only trainer on the planet who helps "red zone" dogs. He is not.

My mentor has rehabbed lots of "red zone" dogs, dogs who were on their last chance, with owners who were ready to give up.

Cesar doesn't have the monopoly on that.

In the end how would you even know that those cases even end with a dog being rehabbed, how do we know that the dog doesn't get put down anyways? We don't because they would never air something like that.

BDL - no argument on using tools like prongs, e-collars etc from me. I don't believe in "purely positive training". I don't like the way CM often uses these tools as I don't think it's the best nor always the correct way.

However, I don't see how CM is any less heavy handed than the guy in the video you posted.

Agree I find CM as bad as the guy in the posted video.

Most people do not realise how heavy handed he is though because they only see what he wants them to see not the outtakes. I will find the video for them to watch.

You will never see it thats the thing.. You can keep repeating yourself but things are not going to get any clearer.

I have said that after all my hours of watching his shows, youtubing like crazy (because I have no life) I cant see how CM comes in the same frame of this guy who nearly breaks a dogs neck with a check chain..

    YOU CAN!!

It honestly baffles me, which I must confuse you as you cannot see through my eyes and I canot see through yours!

Have you never seen CM air block a dog with a dominant dog collar?

Or the episode where he stimmed a dog so high on an e-collar it yelped and peed itself?

Or how about the countless episodes he alpha rolls dogs and forces them onto their back and holds them their by their necks?

I also didn't see how the guy in the video you posted "nearly broke the dog's neck" (even though I thought it was crappy training).
