    Wink Kempsey Area

    Well,
if there are dog owners in this area, who would love to let our dogs socialise, pls let me know.

Currently we are travelling 60ks to a dog beach to get near some dogs. My two need to "see" other dogs and learn to interact more.
Schubert likes to learn from and run with an older dog.
Marley needs to learn to accept other dogs in an off-leash situation.
    MAYBE I am lucky!
    cheers

Not much help.........Only thing I know about Kempsey is that our last Rescue newfie came from there. They do have a pound......

Have you tried to see if there are any Obedience or dog Clubs. that is a good way to meet like-minded people

We did the local puppy/young dog training for 6 weeks here with Schubert waaay back.

    Nothing else .... available.

This is why I am looking for like-minded people here.

Sometimes I meet some real nice owners at the dog beach in Port Macquarie. We only get there once a month.
Though we do see improvement in Marley. We are working her VERY seriously at the beach.

But in general we would like to meet other dogs... - and that would be nice if it was closer to home.

    Agility training all.... in Port.

IMAGINE Marley meeting a newfoundland wow!!! That would change everything!

Find a club | Dogs NSW

Kempsey Macleay Valley Kennel Club Inc
PO Box 210, SOUTH WEST ROCKS, NSW, 2431
    02 6566 5138 tmdonaldson@bigpond.com

I don't know how you decide there's nothing. Can ask your vet, or local council or pound etc.

Maybe southwest rocks is too far away - they have a really nice bakery behind the pub...

There's another dog club at Port Mac too.

    Curses.

At least you had a good go at finding something.

Maybe you could start your own club and invite instructors to visit?

Or just put some posters or notes up through schools and popular places to walk dogs about finding something.

DogsNSW might be able to help with the process involved in starting up a new club and help you find people who might be able to help in your area.

O Hyacinth, what are you doing to me?

I am a struggeling dog owner .... working HARD to stay on top of my two rascals, and now I start thinking of starting my own dog club...

I guess, it might even make sense.

IF ONLY I had more of an idea of a proper systematic training approach.
There might be a teeny weeny business in the pipeline...

I am looking for an icon, symbolizing my state of confusion...
(as I own a nice pair of dog clippers now, thanks to advice from this forum... I can start grooming at the same time... )
