In a sense Crazy. And from what I knew only certain breeds were permitted. Would need to look deeper as sometimes it can be upto the individual clubs trainer on what they allow to 'train' But I know that certain breeds cannot actualy 'compete'.

    I did a google

    Schutzhund ? Wikipedia

    translates vaguely
    Google Translate

    and this

I think IPO is something about "protection" work. Ie "character assessment" is a very polite way of saying "protect / defend / bite"

There are variations on the theme ie what they include in the protection phase whether it's pretending to hit the dog with a stick or actually hitting it, or "shocking the dog" etc. Ie the dog is supposed to continue to "protect" despite the person they are protecting against hurting them. There are two other sports that have heaps of stuff on youtube - "french ring" and "belgian ring" which would never be allowed anywhere the RSPCA has a say.
