I was wondering that when you took the BC off the run that maybe the pup could be on it, or some other workable solution that would halve the problem of if the BC ran off then at least the pup stayed.

It was useless trying to train my two together as well so they were worked on individually.

Yeah, I have to work on them both separately as well. Hopefully this will change as they get older.

Looking at the photos you posted of you pen has given me some ideas. Is yours just star pickets and mesh or have you used anything else?

    Yes star pickets and mesh.
We also had the mesh bent inwards in the pen and covered with dirt to prevent them digging out.
With ours too we kept it a bit wobly so they would feel insecure if they tried to climb out.
You can see the wire we used on the pics.

It came in rolls like this

I can ask him when he is back in about 10pm what it was called and how much it was if you like.

I rang him as I will probably forget and we leave early tomorrow for a few days away.

He can't remember the name of it. It is not dog fencing but some steel bin mesh.
You can get it at bunnings but it is 5 times the price there compared to a steel place.
He says it was about $200 a roll and a roll did 30mtrs.
It is really paying for itself for us with the feeling of security for them plus now no dog boarding fees when we go away and father in law looks after them daily.

I have made simalar pens although I have 1 dog who needs to be on concrete or digs out but 9 times out of 10 I find the posts & mesh enough.
It costs a few hundred dollars for mesh & I already have the posts so can not tell you. Cheaper still go to some farm clearance sales & get second hand mesh(alot of time it's still brand new & rolled).
I have also used a 1 of those crates for sheep that fit in a box trailer & just put better mesh on it. You can pick up some great odds & bodds for pen making at farm clerance sales.
Good luck with your pen making.........................
