    Default 2 Dogs...how Many Crates?

I have 2 crate-naive dogs (and one crate-naive human) and am thinking of getting them (and me) started on crate training.

They are similar age - nearly 2 - and get on well enough but are not really the type to cuddle up together, but they do share a kennel at night. I don't know if crate-sharing would cause friction or even if dogs are meant to share crates.

It's mainly for house-training but I'd like to have them sleep inside eventually.

Also, anyone here against crates? I don't know much about them. Still intend them to be outside and running free during the day.

LOVE crates! I'd get them one each, they may cuddle up in the kennel but one can also move away from the other if they want to, whereas crate-training requires the door to be closed.

I currently have two lots of two boarders that sleep in crates together(ie 4 dogs in 2 crates), but that's what they are used to, otherwise I crate separately.
