Try swapping the tinned food for some raw chicken peices , mince and meaty bones. Not only it is cheaper,it is better for Patch .

    I agree
Something like mentioned above, or a quality dry food kibble.

Also with the bathing...I think you should continue to get the hydrobathing done, he will end up being used to it and start enjoying the massage. Have a bucket of hot water ready when the lady arrives and get her to mix it in with the cold water...just to make the bath nice, warm and relaxing for him. The baths do have heaters, but they dont have enough time to warm up. And give him a good treat afterwards (bone, walk, play fetch ect)

I'm sorry people think i'm making excuses and that they cannot understand i've been explaining the past. If I did not want to do something about it, I wouldn't be here.

I'm going to keep up with the hydro bathing. The lady we get to do it is really nice and its not expensive He always gets walkies afterwards to dry off and so I can look at him clean because I know as soon as he gets put back in the yard he's rolling around in dirt even when i'm there! lol

He is a good boy and he will learn, and I am willing to teach him. But obviously some people can't see that.

He gets meaty bones quite regularly, one every week I think we give him. They're so cheap to get big ones from the butcher that still have alot of meat on them. What I want to know is where they go when he's finished chewing all the meat off I never find them in the back yard lol

Hee hee! I bet he's got a good hidey spot, one day you'll find a bunch of them!!

Try your local dog club, most towns have one. They will run shows etc, but also usually obedience and even agility or flyball. Ours do basic obedience training classes once a week - and it costs a gold coin donation.

If you can teach him to walk on a lead without pulling (and haltis sometimes work well on these super active working breeds, better than collars or check chains) you can try running him next to a bike if you're brave. Once they get the idea of this they LOOOVE it.

Stick with him - he's gorgeous! Every little thing you achieve with him will make you feel great - and making us feel great is what having dogs is really all about!!

Any news on this little fellow?

It is not easy i know, the internet is tricky as personal expressions are difficult to convey....

I believe people really do care and would like to support you and Patch through this

Any decisions on desexing and training options yet?

Please let us know how you are getting along
