I don't quite understand how Melba could receive an anonymous PM.

If you want a world free of "censorship and gagging" you could try one of the former soviet countries, though you'd still have to please the people in charge there.

Australia has censorship rules. Forums have rules which require moderators to implement. This one expects people to be civil and avoid abuse. Sarcasm is almost always rude / abusive / mocking. That's the whole point of it.

So as far as I can see, Melba has a set of double standards and a curious use of English language ie when Melba does it - its all good and when we or the moderators point out or implement the forum rules - it's "censorship and gagging". Well I for one am quite happy to have the forum rules that encourage forum members to be polite enforced. Just because your insults might not include overtly obscene language, doesn't make them any less aggressive and unpleasant to read.

And on any forum I've ever been a moderator on - you'd have your membership cancelled for arguing with a moderators decision. Asking for an explanation is one thing, disputing it - would get you chucked out. So consider yourself lucky I'm not moderating. Moderators have enough difficult decisions to make without people like you giving them a hard time.

If you have no reason to be on this forum other than two people, no offence but couldn't you stay in touch via email? It would be almost the same and no dramas would be posted on the forum instead.

Call us 14 year olds, I don't care because in real life I am 14.

We can all be mature 14 year olds together.

Oh and by the way, 14 year olds are in the 8th grade, like me.

Was this rude? It was sarcastic - yes. Rude? NO.
Yet, if Boxerini saw the YouTube Video posted on another thread on this forum of a dog dancing, you will note that IT IS wearing dancing clothes. I think it was a Mexican costume.. and if you read the comments on that thread, everyone on the forum was laughing.. why is it rude when I say it? I think Choppa even asked her to put some music to help her dog along!?

I don't see anything wrong with the reply at all.

What i see as wrong is... members freedom of speech / posts being deleted or edited so often

Melba, I am not against you in any form or way but....

please stop as you could get banned for this and I honestly do not want to see this happen. You've been a member since June 2009 and almost a year. Don't you want to stay for Aussie Floyd and Hippo's sake? I am sure they don't want to see you get banned.

If you want to continue visiting, tone it down and just give in, it's only going to get worse and your posts will continue to go.

I don't want to see you get banned this is why I am trying to help you.

Excuse me Cleasanta, but a moderator's decision has to be valid. There is no explanation or mention of deleting the post and not even a response to my question of who is the moderator? Which rule was violated for it to be deleted? We live in a democracy - we all have a say. You are very dictatorial and it is an offense to gag someone from voicing an opinion. Some of your posts leave a lot to be desired in the manners domain I should add.

Sweet, sweet Belle. I am very touched by your concern. However, this is a really good lesson for all you young people. A lesson that you should never allow anyone to stop you from voicing your opinion, for fighting for your rights, for fighting for your integrity and your morals. What is happening here is wrong. I am sure many see it but all are afraid to voice their discontent and comment for fear of reprisals. This IS wrong! We should ALL be able to post without fear. You must always take a stand where you believe you are right! A dog forum is about loving dogs - caring about dogs. Not about power play between moderators and members. Thank you darling for having the courage to put your head on the line for me. You are going to be a super young lady one day (you already are!).

    General Rules:
    • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
    • The staff and forum members do not take responsibility for Tips that do not perform, they are simply a guidline or opinion to base your bets on and should be reviewed by yourself before placing them.
    • Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
    • Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
    • Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
    • Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. For style changes and general 'how-to' questions this should be 24 hours. For specific troubleshooting issues, use 12 hours as a guideline.
    • We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate vBulletin community standards. The vBulletin team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
    • Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
    • Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
    • While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant adverts or the sort of 'ooh look, yet another bulletin board' threads. Also, we would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other boards.
    • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
    • If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.
    • Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
    • You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.
    • You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests.
    • We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules, as access to our support forums are a privilege and not a right. A banned customer is still entitled to support from the support system.

Any threads/posts of these types will be deleted.

Melba...you can keep on posting that post and it will still be deleted. I don't care what you think of me to be honest.

This matter has been referred to the Administrator. You are continuing to ignore both Moderators decisions, so it is now left for Morgan to be dealt with.

This is my final word in this matter.

Seriously? It's not ABOUT voicing your opinion, and for that matter, you do NOT have the right to say whatever you want on this forum!

Abide by the rules or suffer the consequences, it is as simple as that. You agreed to the rules when you became a member of this forum. Don't like it? Then leave!

Aussie Floyd, like someone will say exactly what they posted in the first place. Of course someone will try to manipulate others by saying what they originally posted was nice and funny, and downplay it entirely or neglect to retype the entire post. This is common practice

Fortunately Melba, this forum is not a democracy. The rules are in place for a reason. Not only do you have an "old school" way of thought, but you're also an extremist, and someone who thinks they are very right in all matters and everyone who disagrees is asked not to comment further. You're very fun and all (I have laughed at many a post of yours), and quite the manipulator. Now please stop. Rules are final. You want to dismiss them and post as you please? Then you deserve to have posts removed and/or to be banned.

You...like everybody else must adhere to the Forum Rules.

What do you think Boxerini learned from your comment that was deleted...now that you mention the "learning from each other" issue? Nothing except you are willing to mock her in public and disagree with her! Your comments (or most of them) since you decided to visit this Forum again...have been crude and aggressive of nature. If you have such strong beliefs regarding this Forum calling it a Kindergarten and a sheep following session...you always have the choice to stop coming here.

There are ways to say things and ways not to say things...there are times to say things and times to keep our mouth shut.

At any given time...you are entitled to your opinions as long as the post isn't a personal attack...an attempt to undermine people in public and/or is crude, rude, abusive and offensive. Those are the same rules for every member here...including you.

    Cheers
Thanks Clea, in fact I have learnt that... just took the words out of my mouth. Great post.

One of my Whippets sailed over the entire outdoor setting, length ways including the two chairs at either end, now if he would just stick to begging and spinning I'd be a very happy owner.
Thanks MAC, its nice to have at least one post actually on topic
Bella does these types of behaviours on her own, I think they are her favourite tricks actually

If it is pointless visiting and you think we are all nasty NASTY dog owners who hate our dogs (except for Aussie Floyd and Hippo of course)...dont let the door hit you in the arse on the way out!

Regarding your restaurant comment......you could go to a restaurant....treat everybody like they are crap and eventually get kicked out on your arse for your rude, abusive and nasty antics!!!
I hate to moderate a mod, for lack of a better word, but this sounds pretty rude...
