    Default Heeling

Look, I know this is going to sound weird, but have to ask...

Have any of you ever had a dog that just seems to know how to heel correctly without being trained to do so?

Okay, any idea why this happens with some dogs?

    Velcro dog?

Batty does, although every once in a while he will lag behind a little to sniff something particularly good really deeply.

I have no idea why, but I'm not looking the gift horse in the mouth either

Maybe they know that by being there that's where they get the treats?

    LMAO.

I've only ever had one GSD that was even close to this. He was great and trained to heel so fast it wasn't funny, but Inca just does it. Been working for weeks (use the word working loosely) out in the back yard, but gave up as she was heeling beauitfully. Finally started taking her out onto the streets, thinking well, we'll see what happens NOW! Bingo, no difference. She's just there. All the time.

True. I'd better make the most of it while it lasts. Lol.
