    If you really want her to play with the ball I guess you could withhold a couple of meals so she's hungry and eager to work for the treats. If she's not being naughty and pestering you I probably wouldn't bother though.

    That is certainly possible. Are there ways I can cheer her up a bit? There are times she gets excited still, like when we water the garden, she barks and tries to play with the hose, and when we squirt her, she does laps around the house.

    I doubt your dog is depressed, she is probably just chilled out a bit more now she is older

    No probs, but if you feel she is acting too much out of the ordinary, just take a visit to the vet just incase

    I wouldn't be too concerned. Not all toys are for all dogs and even when you're spot on the money, they can go through phases where they are obsessed to completely disinterested. I bought one of these balls for my dog and to begin with he wasn't interested because I don't think he got it. Then when he figured it out he was interested, became too good and managed to be able to get all the treats out within a minute of giving it to him. Then he lost interest again... She might come around. Maybe put emphasis on another toy for the time being to mix it up.
