I agree. How long has she been like this? Are you home during the day? How's her appetite in general?

You know your dog better than me, but boredom in my dogs results in destruction, pacing and general naughtiness. Not lying around looking sad.

    Yeah, nothing's wrong illness wise.

There's usually always someone who's home. Her appetite has been okay... It's not been an ongoing thing, but she is a naturally quiet dog, although sometimes she's more quiet than other times. I had the thought that it may be that she wanted more affection, so I've been paying more attention to her, taking her for more walks and trying to get her interested in other things. Any other ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

Nine is pretty advanced in dog years. Maybe she's just slowing down and enjoying her quiet time. Has there been any major changes in the pack? Another dog or human coming or going?

Nope. Everything's pretty much consistent.. She's wary around other dogs, but stands her ground.

Maybe it is just the case that she is getting older & a bit more slower
