    Hi and

    Jessie is lovely

I believe once she knows her new home and grows to love you all to bits...I'm sure she'll do a great job of detering strangers into your fenced yard. Usually a keen barking dog is all that's needed to keep unwanted ppl from entering the yard. It's hard to tell (from a stranger being on the outside of the fence) to know if the dog is going to bite or be super friendly. Both my dogs bark and scare everyone..yet, they'd lick them to bits if they did enter probably...LOL

Jessie is gorgeous, and an as an owner of two Sibes, mine would never make guard dogs, they would invite strangers in, make them feel comfortable and lick them to death!!!!!!!! LOL

    Hi there and welcome

    Jessie is lovely

I agree with others that barking alone should deter most people. Like Ozeymum says you don't know whether a dog will be aggressive or friendly.

I got my dog from the pound - for the first few weeks she was really quiet, didnt make a sound. But once she settled in she started barking at strangers and now sounds pretty scary!!

Beautiful girl you have there! Like everyone already said give her some time to settle in and to feel home in your place.
Actually, I don't think you need a dog to bark to protect the house. She is a big girl and people will be scared of that alone. That is the case with our Ziggy. She hardly barks but when people come to our door and see her most of them are scared (which I personally don't understand but then she is a big dog... )

    Welcome Husky Guy.

I agree with the others.. She will in her own time become familier with her surroundings and will soon know when to bark a warning to strangers to your home.. Let her do this in her own time and I'm sure you will be happy with the end result..

Edit... I hate it when I read page 1 only to discover page 2 when I submit a post
