Default Aust Dog Training Gone Broke

Hi I am new and my first bit of news is I was a member with ADT which emailed its clients yesterday to tell us they were shutting down immediately. I paid 600 dollars up front. It is unlikely I will see my money again at this point and sadly I will miss training there as it was a great place. We had only passed through 1 level and I had paid for 4 more. People were signing up late as last week and have only had 1 class for their money. It is very sad for the trainers and members alike. Any one here affected by the closure?

It seems to me that anyone running a company would know a little ahead of time that they were in serious trouble. Maybe it was a bit much for them to still be taking payments as recently as last week...

Oh how annoying! I took Mimi to the Kerala Club here in Melbourne. Which State are you in Mokha? The Kerala Club has a gentle approach to training and it is very effective. Google it and see if it suits your needs. Maybe if you mention what happened and you show that you have receipts from the other Club you can either get a discount or get the lessons gratis??? Hummm.. wishful thinking but try it anyway. They may have a VERY BIG heart!

    Do you mean Kintala?

Kintala assess dogs before allowing them to join - if the dog has any behavioural issues you will be turned away

Sorry, yes you're right. It is the Kintala Club! They were wonderful with Mimi. Kerala is a place in India and I was thinking of a recipe I was going to use... hehehe.. a case of wanting to do too much at once!

Kintala is quite a way from you - I suggest southern obedience - friendly with a mix of traditional and new methods. Nice balanced training.

Yes I was a member of ADT also. I joined about 2 months ago. I was there on the Sunday just prior to them sending out the email. No one said a word. I understand that if its getting too much you may have to close the doors but not to say anything to people who have paid you good money is very poor form. I also note from their email they have been quite cowardly and basically said they arent answering their phones to anyone. I also noted today that they have shut down their web-site. I hope their employees were treated a bit better than their customers. The trainers were very good.
