    Default Changed behaviour!

I am honestly kinda blown away about this!
I'll first say that i have been really slack with Koda's behaviour training lately, mostly because i have a lot of stresses at the moment and i'm busy studying In four months time when i don't have to worry about exams and study any more, i plan to resume the training intensely
Back to my point So lately everyone in my family has noticed that Koda has seemed more relaxed in general (less barking at visitors ect)
But today something happened which just blew my mind! The morning was pretty hectic we had people coming left and right, and i was getting ready for a party. First my brother arrived with my nephew... Koda didn't care at all, no barking or aggression. Ten minutes later we had someone come over to cut some firewood. He drove his ute down past Koda's yard and again... Koda didn't care at all Then another man arrived and drove down the same way, past Koda's yard... again no signs of stress from Koda!! Soon after these two men arrived, my dad came out and started talking to the blokes right next to Koda's yard... and Koda... believe it or not... chose to lie down next to the fence, literally 1 meter from these strange men that he had never met before, and he was totally chilled out!! Not long after that another man arrived to look at some cattle and again... no fuss from Koda! My dad went off to show the guy the cattle, and the man who came to cut firewood headed off, got his chainsaw and started chopping wood literally 10 meters from Koda... and Koda didn't care, no barking, no growling, no fear, no aggression what so ever!
I'm not sure what exactly has caused Koda to calm down so quickly, i'm thinking it might be age... but whatever the cause is, it is definitely a welcome sight in my household! If he keeps up this relaxed way we are thinking of taking him out to see some dogs to see how he goes!
I am aware that he will still need training to stamp out the behaviour but i just wanted to share this with you guys cause its just so nice to see him to happy and relaxed! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside

'maddogdodge' - Loved reading your post and congratulations !

The changes that you are seeing with Koda - could be that he is maturing – but most likely - it is the training you have been doing with him.

You are showing Koda – through the training – that you make the decisions and that you will keep him safe. With him learning to trust you and your family more – things will only get better.

A pup that doesn't have to make decisions is much happier and less stressed – so keep up the good work ! smiley-eatdrink004.gif

I think the training has definitely helped him a lot Its been over a month since i've done some decent training with him though, so i was very shocked to see the dramatic change in him.
