heres some mine is 110% proficient in. Infact she actually managed to teach herself. and some she does if you nag her enough

    self taught:

come back here you pain in the ass (usually done while running after her trying to get something off her that she isn't allowed to have!)
    chase the fox
    chase the cat
    steal cats food
sneak into bathroom and chew a toilet role
    chew peg bag
dig to china (i think she's trying to get to a chicken shop in Beijing)

these ones had to be drummed into her!

    sit
    stay
    drop
    shake
    heel
    leave it
off the road (off the road and onto the footpath when walking)
    hop up (into car/ute)
find it (she's learning this one)
    who's there
go go go (sends her off after whatever livestock)

Thanks for the kind words. Yes training is really fun and I started using a clicker so now my dog Luna learns in a session or two. It is incredible the difference it makes I feel that I can communicate with her so much easier.

As I am a newbie (so please forgive me if this is a silly question and not really mean to be asked here), does this forum notify you of other posts if you have replied to a thread? I don't seem to be getting any on the notifications tab.

Wow, that is a really impressive list! Mine is more like Ven's dog's. Her favourite trick is "Banjo, ignore me!". Haha! Not really though, she is pretty obedient.

    At just under 8 months Juda knows;
    Sit
    Shake Hands
    Lay Down
    Drop It
    On Your Bed
    Heel
    Fetch
Stay (I make her sit and stay for her tea, one night my sister forgot about telling her she could eat her tea, came back 5 minutes later and Juda was still sitting there with a "can I pleeeeeeease eat my tea" look)
Don't Snatch (You can have food in your hand and no matter how close it is to her she wont grab it unless you signal her too)

And then there is her amazing talent of fitting multiple items in her mouth, two deer steaks, a bone and her "pup pup" is her current known record. God that was funny

We've had Dori for about half a year now and she absolutely loves doing tricks for treats! She knows

    Sit
    Stay
    Down
    Paw
    Hi Five
    Beg
Bang (sometimes we'll combine beg & bang. "beg for your life, bang!")
Pray (Puts her paws and head on the couch. extremely adorable)
    Spin
    Bed
Leave it (even when there's a big fat biscuit on her paw heheh)
    Drop it
    Stand
"That's enough" i.e. no more playing
and our latest favourite...Close the door! awesome not having to get off the bed after she comes back from potty! Maybe I'm just a tad lazy hahah.

I wanted to teach her to carry objects and speak but unlike most dogs she doesn't put human stuff in her mouth or bark. The only time she barks is in her sleep..which is more like a 'yip'. so i guess those two are out!

Haha some of these tricks are awesome! has anyone taught their dog to 'hide'? As in, put a paw over their eye like they're embarrassed for you? I want to teach it to my Pom so she can express what all of us are thinking when my dad tells his dad jokes. Haha.
I tried to teach her using the suggestion of blowing in her face... do *NOT* try this, she thought it was excellent fun, she had a great time lunging at me and trying to bite my nose.
Another suggestion was to spray water in your dog's face but I don't know about that...
I want her to *want* to do the trick and I'd rather not spray her in the face. I don't think I'd like that much. Any suggestions? If you taught this trick to your pup, let me know which method you had the most success with!

Both my dogs are proficient at ...

    Being cute
    Cuddles
    Making me laugh
Always being there for me, no matter what mood I'm in
    Did I mention cuddles?

Oh yes, and they can sit, stay, wee on command (not in the house) and harass me at dinner time

    @CarmenR

You can follow the threads you've posted in by using "subscribe" settings somewhere in your profile. Under "quick links" is a "subscribed threads". I follow "new posts" and "today's posts" more than "subscribed"

I don't think you can get a "notification" of posts in threads you've posted in. You can get an email to the account you signed up with if you really want. I think that would drive me nuts. Notifications only happen for private messages and likes as best I can tell.

So if you want to change your "subscription settings" - click on "settings" top right near your user name, and then in the window that comes up from there, look for "My account" and "General Settings" under that to change what happens with your subscription notifications and other notifications. I have mine set to "Through the control panel". And then I can use quick links to see what I've posted in. I think I get automatically subscribed to a thread by posting in it.
