Cheer guys I am going to try all of these suggestions... I'm also going to invest in a baby gate for use when I've got extras visiting. I just can't trust the kids to think and look before they open the front door...

Victorian GSD Club trainer gave me this titbit:
GSD's are a bit silly as youngsters, sometimes its good to leave training till they are around 18 months old.

But to be fair, same trainer also told me:
There's something wrong with you, you cant walk in a straight line.

One turned out to be vertigo, now treated. the other was a crock of s**t. Can you guess which was which? lol

Worse training advice ever - can't say I've received any from real trainers, but the most common one I get from "joe average" is you'll never get the dog to do anything when you don't have food. So typical of people who don't understand schedules of reinforcement.

Best training advice ever - stop looking down at your dog, you're walking into her. This was told to me yonks ago & I see so many people considering trialling doing this, you often don't realise until it's pointed out to you.
