    Default Dog Shows

I know I've asked posted a topic before about dog shows
but just wanted to know if there was anyone here that does
enter in the Brisbane shows ?
I was reading the Dogs QLD magazine and there is one in August
but I have missed the entry..This was for puppies..
I doubt it would be hard for me to enter a puppy as all I would need to
know is the 3 basic walk patterns..
I guess every pup would muck around so I wouldn't be the only one
that may have a naughty puppy...

Just curious as I would love to go and meet up and see if you could
guide me as you show your pooch...
Would be Brisbane only for me though...

Go and enjoy, don't worry if puppy mucks up. I hate robot puppies.

Like MAC said, have fun.i am there for the fun, We are never Robot puppies or dogs.. ..Katy used to even get a lick in as an puppy/adult. She was well mannered and stood well, but the tongue always seemed to get the Judge when they were checking her teeth LOL........she even got the cranky Judges to smile

That is about it..I was totally confused the first time I showed, because my breeder was not there. But there was an awesome Steward who directed me several time as to when i should return and possibly be ready for the next "round".......I nearly missed my first Group win, because i had put my dogs away thinking we were finished LOL..Steward said "where is your dog???" Ran to get him, got our first group in our first ever show, thanks to her..........That bright Pink sash is my fave, just because it is the first

I don't think anyone ever understands the system for a while no matter how many times you watch it, but once you participate it starts to make sense.

As much as you will find horrible people in the show world you will also find some wonderful ones. My best friends I met thru dog showing back in 1991. They were showing the litter brother to my little bitch. We met and just clicked and despite being competitors it made no difference to our friendship and had some wonderful weekends away at dog shows, travelling interstate to the different royals etc .

I always suggest to people they introduce themselves to the steward as a newbie just before the judging of the previous breed and I always suggest a newbie order a catalogue to help you keep track of things. And yep always check that you are finished for the day with the steward before leaving.

I helped a first time showie with his Ridgeback last weekend, turns out one of the Basenji people were also keeping an eye on him and so too was a Bassett person.

Well we have huge black dogs, the person who took a lot of effort to teach me has little white ones LOL Japanese Spitz's. She took the time to teach me and my hubby and we are now friends We often share the shade (gazebo).......

LL, I don't do breed shows but am judging an agility comp on Sunday at Elimbah if you want to see what the sport is all about.
