Default Dog escaping out of the pound, into the garden

I need a security camera to watch what on earth is going on in my house whilst im away.
Dogs are in a area, that has either a 12ft wooden wall, or on the deck of our 'on stilts' house, with a 20ft drop into a small garden area that then has a 2ft fence into the paddocks out the back.

Last 2 days, Bernie has been found in the small garden area. He's not a jumper. Clearly is over me working full time. only this week and next to go, before im home 3 days a week. Also my daughter is away at camp this week, so less human traffic to distract him.

does anyone know how much these things cost?

Ebay. $15 to $5000. Depends on what quality and how many cameras ya need.

I had the same idea as I think mine have separation anxiety but i couldnt afford anything really good , so I set up my Sony Handycam at the back door , and went out for about an hr . When i got back i fast forwarded it , and played it real time if they were getting up to anything - - VERY interesting!

Maybe you could try this with any smaller camera, i just charged it before i left

I think if you google, you may find that you can hire a security camera for a couple of weeks? I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time! LOL)

You're a bad person, Reyzor. Explains why you wanted the lights on tho.

Am loving the sig quote exchange between you and Sean.

So security cam - you can use a video baby monitor, a go pro, or a farm guard security cam.
Prices vary. If you have wireless internet - you can rig it to broadcast to somewhere on the internet.
Or it can record to an internal hard drive.

I saw it done with an ipod touch on TV one time too. Granny was breaking in. (the good wife).

well, today, i left access to the house open through the dog door. Gave bernie a good swim before i left for work. Came home and he had not jumped the deck or wall. Odd.
So tomorrow im doing the same, and will see where he is on my return.
Im not sure what possessed him to get out. He never left the property, and never has, a 2 ft high piece of wire keeps him in, we only built the wall as dog warden stated he has to 'appear' to be well secured. Just weird to find him where we found him.

Ok, that seemed to be a brief unexplained bernie behaviour that occurred twice. Normal services have been resumed, so goodknows what that was about, but he's decided that his side of the fence, is the better place to be, and not to bother jumping again.

Strange creatures eh? I wonder if someone came into the garden, and he's leapt down from the deck to see em off. I think i'll never know why. or how for definate.
