Talking Treadmill Training II - Tricks

So, as a follow on from the treadmill training thread, I wanted to put up a video of the tricks Luke does, that I was referring to in my posts. This can make the treadmill more fun and interactive for your dog and it requires a higher level of skill and confidence in your dog to perform them on a moving surface. Plus it's fun!!

As you will see, other little ones wanted to join in too. It was their second/third session on the treadmill (though it wasn't their session, they just made a cameo appearance)

Has anyone else done this with their dog?

Love it! Luke doesn't seem disturbed by the littlies at all! My two are a bit like that - they both jump on at the same time.

They are both still learning to walk on it, but Duke keeps sitting down - and getting a fright when he slides off the end!
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

Leads do help with the prevention of sliding off the back, but mostly interacting with them up the front keeps them up the front of the treadmill. The little black dogs had only learnt to go on the treadmill that day. Here's some of them once they got confident...
