Beloz, i don't know why somebody would lie about something like that either, but i they have left a very uneasy feeling with me as i felt they were taking their good old time when the dog was listed as urgent. I don't understand why you would get in touch with me, say that you would try and have the dog transported to me on Wednesday/Thursday and then not answer any of my calls or text, leave some half arsed text saying 'doesn't look good for the dog, haven't been able to get any staff to assess her as of yet'. I would have thought she would have been a priority?!

Prior to this i have enquired with best friends rescue & the SPCA filling out their on-line forms. I couldn't think of any other organizations here in QLD but i will be sure to check out some of chubs ideas. Both me and Molly miss having another dog around the house, but i don't want to fully commit to another dog as of yet and after watching that SBS special about how many dogs and cats are put down annually, why don't i open my own home to one that needs it at a time of desperation? I've always wanted my own Rotty hence why i was such a sucker for this one : D

What about these guys? Animal Angels Rescue - PetRescue They have a foster application form on their website... And I now want Aria - PetRescue or Libby - PetRescue lol

But none of the big ones have any Rotties right now. I don't think they get surrendered all that often?

Beloz, it's not just the Rotties i'm after, i'm all for helping whatever needs help and to be honest if i ended up fostering one.. it'll probably turn into a failed foster lol

I'll let you know how i get on anyway.

I am waiting for our house to finally be build and hopefully we will move in some time in Feb. And once I've unpacked the boxes, I'm contacting the big local rescue org here and offering my services to foster a dog too! Banjo will love it. I always said that I would only foster smallish dogs, but I so love sighthounds that I could see us end up with a wolfhound x instead.

Bugga! Shame you wern't in NSW Kuri , we're always on the lookout for good foster carers.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with PR too. But try not to worry too much. If he was reclaimed then he wasn't urgent....his mandatory holding period obviously wasn't even up. But then this is a common ploy from PR , an 'urgent' dog will get more donations you see
They have even done it with a dog that was already with another rescue!
They are a problem that is like a juggernaut at the moment sadly

Kuri_89 - what about - Locations | AWLQ - they have one or two - sort of down the road from you !

As you have experience with both pups and pussy cats - I am sure that if you put in an application - they will welcome you with open arms ! Though with the application - it is always good to actually give it to them personally - just a hint !

Forget about the other so-called rescue people - that you have had recent experience with - they use very emotive language and can be really 'skinny' with the truth !

From what I have read lately - this group will very quickly need to change the way they work - particularly as they have their 'rescue paperwork'. Already I am seeing on their FB page - actually suggesting - and trying to work with other rescue groups !!!!!!!!

They're scammers - they will take your money and you will get nothing in return.

I will only look at rescues listed with Pet Rescue for a reason. You really want to be picky with who you reward.

If you really want to rescue a Rottie - maybe try contacting the breed club in your state - Breed clubs often have rescue, foster or rehoming affiliated with them.

Well - if anyone had any lingering doubts as to what type of rescue a particular group is like - that has been mentioned previously on this thread - hope this will dispel it for you once and for all !
FB page - 'Po u nd Ro u n ds Beware' There is also comments about a kennel that this group has now -

It is a crying shame - that this group has been given sooooo much oxygen and causing real damage to hard working and very professional rescue groups - that have have been doing such worthwhile work for a long time !
