Default 2 Dogs Need Temporary New Home ASAP Both Still Puppies

    HI there,

I am wanting to rehome my 2 dogs for a brief period. If im not able to rehome them they might end up going to end up in a shelter which would really break my heart.

Both 2 yrs old, boy - Button - Pomeranian x chihuahua - desexed - stunning little man. Is shy and timid and requires a firm owner who knows how to let him know who is boss. He has such a gentle nature, is very loving, is a lap dog and very loyal.
Girl - Billie - Maltese x Lhasa Apso - not desexed - she is delightful in everyway. Outgoing, playful, loves cuddles, belly rubs, kids and anyone who gives her love.

neither dogs are aggressive to other dogs, Billie will have a sniff although she probably wont play unless they are a dog she knows. Button will stay back and wont approach another dog unless he knows them.

Both compliment each other perfectly and are best friends, having been raised together.

They are both used to me working from home, so unless they are going to a house with other dogs, I would prefer an owner who works from home.

They are fed on a raw food diet and I am willing to pay for the costs of their food until I am able to pick them up again.

If it turns out that the new person they are living with falls in love with them completely and wants to keep them then that would be an option also.

If you know anyone in a position to take on two blessings please contact me as soon as possible.

    many thanks in advance Kayley

Help! I need to rehome my pet! | PetRescue

has lots of good info about how to keep your dogs, and how to rehome if there is no other way.

I don't understand the temporary thing either - why not board them?

You need to think long and hard about this. In fact, if you do end up getting someone to care for them temporarily, I would be inclined to have a lawyer map out a contract.

So many variables, so many things that can go wrong.

You may think you just need to find someone who loves dogs and has a big heart and all will be well; however, you need to think of things that can go wrong and plan accordingly.

Things such as (and list is far from complete - just quickly off the top of my head):

. what if the dogs get out
. what if they are injured or killed
. what if they cause an accident
. what happens if they get sick
. what happens if resident dogs and yours fight and another dog is injured.

All pessimistic, but you need to think of these things.

And the things that my dog did...

what if your dogs bark all night and the neighbours complain
what if your dog does evil things like crapping in your friend's bedroom and sleeping on his bed... ie in a short period of time - drives your friend nuts.
And that's why my dog goes to boarding kennels, not to my friends' or family's places.

The person posted on another forum...

Basically they want to go on a holiday for 3 months and are unsure if they can take the dogs with them. They don't want to put them into a kennel as they like to be inside but are quite happy to surrender them to a shelter if they can't find a temp home....

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Guess these dogs are disposable assets that can be used then discarded to suit their lifestyle......Just like a car or a new TV I guess.....

Come on guys. At least they try to find a solution! Many others wouldn't bother trying to find a temp home but just dump them in a shelter.
