I've been really intrigued as to why you want to know actually. But it's ok if you don't want to say.

In my experience all dogs are up to date on vaccinations prior to being rehomed.
Any rescue who does not vaccinate prior to rehoming is pretty irreponsible and wouldn't be one that I would recommend.

I do some private rescue and even I vaccinate dogs prior to rehoming.

I just want to understand how rescues/fostering/etc operate. Are you involved with rescue groups?

I foster kittens, but I don't know much about the actual rescuing.

To be honest, I dont think its that irresponsible.

What I do think is irresponsible is people who deal with unwanted and abandoned dogs and pups and then let them go entire. Far worse than an unvaccinated dog IMO

I know there is one rescue group in SA that is not allowed to be listed on petrescue because they rehome dogs that are entire undesexed and maybe unwormed and unvaccinated too. I don't know why they do that - maybe they think they can save more dogs with the money they save. Except - they will have to save more dogs if they rehome ones that are not desexed.

Why is your policy 'No Undesexed Animals' to be listed on PetRescue? | PetRescue

i have adopted 2 dogs and both of them were fully vaccinated (up to 12 months) microchoipped and steralised.
but ask the place where you are getting the dog from. that would be the best way would it not? if they are vaccinated they should come with records to show when there last ones were and what for.
I would recommend worming when you get them (just to make sure) and i also took both of mine for a vet check within the first week just to check everything is ok. no infections kennel cough anything like that.
I also recommend getting a heart worm vaccination these are about $110 (depending on size of dog) and usually last for 2 years they don't normally get them at rescue shelters etc and is a great investment especially if your dog is going to be socialised.

    hope this was helpful
