Thread: Adopting from Overseas

    Exclamation Adopting from Overseas

I was just wondering, has anyone ever adopted a dog from overseas?
While I was looking for a Yorkshire Terrier to adopt here in Victoria, some reason this ad I saw
Excellent!!! yorkies (lundamoore63@yahoo.com) contact if interested.

the owner of the yorkie puppies is from Hawaii
And the weird thing is that she is posting in an Australia website, plus she is only asking for $100 for the delivery fee for one puppy. Wouldn't the delivery fee plus applications, be more expensive than $100?

Can anyone give me some feedback please

    Thanks!

Sounds like a con to me.. It would cost more than a 100 bucks to fly the dog to Australia

    Hi guys,
I got an email from her

    Hello Jeffrey ,
Ok now that i have your full delivery details i will call the delivery agency here that will deliver the baby to you to know if there will be a delivery schedule to your location today okay? I will let you know as soon as i get in touch with them. Yeah Lisa is a pure breed baby girl and she will be coming alongside with all her registered papers and a year health and shipping guarantee . She will also come with some of her favorite toys too . You are going to pay directly to the delivery agency and not me so they are going to let you know how to make the payment okay.

So should I just ignore her?

    Absolutely a scam!
fyi If you're ever in doubt, google the email address. When they have ads all over the world trying to give away a sought-after pure puppy you'll have your answer.
Honestly, some people have no shame. It's disgusting.

Good luck finding your doggy. There is one out there for you.

Good on you. It's a scam and I know some people (not from Australia though) that fell for it. Considering the flight costs, the quarantine costs before she even touches down to Oz, 100 dollars is really hilarious amount. But the story is that they seem all nice and friendly until you put the money in their account. Then they keep asking for more, making up some problems at the airport etc. To cut to the chase - you never see your puppy and you're ripped off.

Plenty of dogs to adopt in your home country.
Respect and you shall be respected. Animal is always right.
