Thread: Sooooo Tempting...

    Default Sooooo Tempting...

I was browsing Pet Rescue...because I like to tease myself I guess...

    And I found this...

Ruby's profile at PetRescue - is she your new best friend?

She is SO beautiful! And SO tempting! But the nose worries me. She wouldn't be able to be inside from 9am to 4pm.

And if I'm honest with myself now is not the BEST time for us to get another dog. Although I know Poppy would LOVE a friend.

I hope she finds a loving forever home!!!

She is beautiful Amy! The nose would need constant protection from the sun!

I know...sigh! Why do I do this to myself! Lol!

I've put a thread on DOL about her and someone is passing on her profile to Cav Rescue in QLD.

I wish it was 6 months on...she is just what we would be looking for in 6 months time!!!

There will be another one along to take her place - unfortunately.

Its sad. But I hope there is. I would LOVE to rescue a Cav.

I have been put in touch with the lady at Cacv Rescue Qld.

I'm going to see if she would hold her for a month or two, work on her basic obedience.

Then I could give her a forever home.

This would also allow for Poppy to be desexed and recover from that.

Am I crazy!? Tell me honestly!!!

Depends what the rescue place is like I guess. If they have room or are overflowing, if they have the resources to work on her training or whether she would just get worse.

I'd be guided by the people from the rescue.

And remember, there really will be another, and another....

    And are you ready yet?

I know this is the pot calling the kettle black, BUT don't get a second dog until YOU are well and truly ready for it! It is soooo easy to fall for those cute pics - think with your head, not your heart. If you're not ready yet then you will turn around and say what have I done. With this girl you also need to know that she will be okay with another female dog in the house, talk to the rescue group, if you still want to go ahead then first go do a meet and greet to see how they get on.

Amy, there is no doubt that you have a wonderful home to offer, as a rescuer you tick all the right boxes for me!

    Thanks MAC and GAG!

Deep down, if I think with my head and not my heart I know we are not ready. The main thing stopping us is finances. We are saving for a our wedding and honeymoon and the expense of setting up a crate and bedding and food and vet bills for another doggy is not in our budget at the moment.

When I found her I was just so worried she would end up being PTS. But I've contacted Cav Rescue QLD about her and so has someone else off DOL so I'm satisfied I have done all I can for her!

I'm happy I have the contacts of Cav Rescue QLD now so that when we are ready we I can go straight for a rescue doggy!

Its really nice to know that you think I have a nice home to offer GAG! I'm no expert but I have learn't SO much and do think I could take on another Cavalier when the time is right and when the right rescue comes along!
