I had a look at the pound list..

I saw 12 dogs listed as Staffordshire Bull Terrier's or crosses & imo most were not pure SBT's.

If only council / pound workers knew what a SBT actually looked liked. It seems that any brindle or pied dog is auto named a SBT by the pound workers.

It's such a shame that there are a lot of SBT's & crosses of SBT in the pound

It is very sad. I remember when I lived in Rockhampton, this silly woman surrendered her SBT because it talked too much!

I had a look on the Albury lists and it is ridiculous. Seriously, what is wrong with SBT's? They are awesome dogs, and I for one feel very protected around them.

Plenty of people here are always looking for them, advertising in the newspapers under "wanting to buy". Why don't they just go to the pounds and adopt one? That is what I would do, plus some are already desexed etc, an added bonus IMO.

My step mum has a Staffy x and I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world..

    ..
imo I don't think every dog of a any breed could be generalised or covered by one temp/personality/experience etc.

Even the SBT owners on here know that they aren't for everyone and take a good handler/owner.

I think its inexperience, lack of education and at times laziness that result in so many being in a pound. I also think that alot of mixed breeds are getting the label staffy so they seem more marketable (sorry guys, lack of a better word) to potential new owners.

    Its a heartbreaking situation

When Ralph could talk before his tracheostomy he would say "Love You" quiet distintly, and would just rooorooroo in different pitches the whole time you were with him. I really miss all that communications!
But yeah, the lady in Rockhampton was an idiot! One of the nice things about a lot of staffies is that they love to talk!
