It's not about having a working breed in suburbia. It's having a working breed in suburbia and NOT exercising it's mind and body sufficiently. If you have a working breed you need to be able to provide the mental and physical stimulation for them (twice daily walks and lots of training) or they do go nutso. It's about responsible ownership, not breed restriction IMO. If you can't be responsible and give the dog what it needs both mentally and physically you shouldn't have obtained the dog to begin with.

    Rant over.

I wish I could help, I'm west of Brisbane though. I have the yard and the time to help him, but it wouldn't be permanent here, retraining and rehoming.

Re-read my words... SOME people... i didn't say all... imo the prob is un-education about specific breed requirements, exercise etc etc etc... some poeple just jump right in buy on impulse etc...

TBH.. i give up on explaining myself any further to you AGB.. no matter what i say you always seem to question it anyway or accuse me of being offensive or a troll etc etc..... hooray for the ignore option....

    got a email back saying

I'm all out of options i have tried making the fence higher, putting wire on top, chaining him to a run, the dog spray, the last resort was the electric collar that zaps when he goes near then boundaries but he just needs to be on a farm and allowed to run around. I have spent almost $800 in 2 weeks trying to keep him in the yard...
So i'm open to ideas suggestions...
The next fine from the ranger is $895 and i just can do that anymore

Thanks for elaborating on the reason Rebecca.

OK,so he's an escape artist ( from boredom is my guess although I've known dogs that had everything done text book and still scaled 6 foot colour bond)

I need to know if this dog is ok with other dogs and also is there an email addy I can pass onto the relevant person who might be able to help?

The way that it sounded to me was that it doesn't matter who you are having a working breed in suburbia is wrong in your opinion and I do find that suggestion offensive.

I agree entirely that people do jump in to owning them without researching them or fully understanding the issues that they can develop.

I've said that you posted in a troll like manner once. I said that this is offensive once... I've agreed with you on many occassions and I wasn't asking you to explain yourself... So how does that equate to always? Of course I'm going to ask for clarification if I don't understand what you have written, but isn't that the purpose of a discussion?

Oh right... Ignore... Well, I guess this post will go unnoticed then. I guess we can't all have a normal discussion anymore...
