    Default Help for Missy

After reading all the posts re Fonz, I thought I'd post Missy's story in the hope that someone may know the perfect home for her... Sorry if this is a bit rambly I'm thinking as I'm typing (dangerous combination)

Missy was found wandering the streets, she was held at the pound as long as possible before we were called... Linda and I drove down and picked her up 4 weeks ago on the trip back to my place Missy screamed the whole time.. I was thinking OMG what am I going to do with her... and I mean screaming she was frantic.... she didnt stop crying (althou it did become bearable - or maybe we just got use to it) that night at all... I had even given her valium tablets that night (and the next few) I slept on the couch with my hand touching her - she was in an open crate... The next morning I took her to the vet who prescribed some medication to 'knock her out'' when needed.... she was put to sleep each night and would sleep till the morning...when the distress would start again.. you can see she was severerly tramatised.... so for the next 7 nights she was given a tablet and during the day she was not out of my sight....

Now three weeks later and lots of intensive rehab work she is sleeping on my bed and as long as she knows where I am she is ok... if she cannot see me the screaming (well in reality its more of a sooky winging now) will start and she will not stop until she is with me again....

I believe she was used as a breeding bitch and probably had her first litter on her first season... she appears to have some stunted growth and is only the size of my 5 month old pup... If you look at her she appears to be around 7 or 8 years but in reality her teeth say she is about 3....

She is good with my dogs, but will growl at all other dogs (took her to obedience school last weekend she did great)

She is coming to work with me during the day I have started leaving her for short periods at home (going to the shops etc) and can hear her scream when I leave but she usually settles down and quiet when I get back....

Anyway all this is leading to my request... Missy needs a home... she needs a special home with kind caring people who can continue her rehab work and be tollerant of her crying....

If anyone knows of such a special place Missy will be forever gratefull...

    Thanks for reading...

Just called the people I am referring to and they have an appointment with Linda tomorrow afternoon. I told them to ask about Missy and I believe they will!

Ohhh I hope they consider her, she looks like a lovely girl, what has she had to endure in her life to make her like that.......

Missy is the sort of "special needs" dog that I love to take on and help. I will keep my fingers crossed for her.
