To set up a rescue organisation?

The things that are obvious to me are space and facilities, time and lots of money, lots of experience etc. What about the more technical things?

Money money and more money!

Setting up a relationship with vets for desexing, vaccinating, chipping etc. Resources for monthly flea/heartworm treatments, and 3 monthly worming. Resources for feeding.

Paperwork - setting yourself up as a charity, getting a clause 16D (in NSW) to get dogs released from pounds into your care, yearly reporting of dogs that have come into your care and where they have gone etc. Making sure all the change of ownership forms have been done when a dog is adopted. Sorting out adoption criteria and adoption contracts etc.

Just a few things off the top of my head!

Basically, hubby and I have a bit over 20 acres that we aren't really using for much. We have another 10 acres that has some cattle adjisted there and 2 acres around the house. I want to build some kennels on there with large outdoor runs, have two enclosures for training and have the obvious things like storage etc.

Part of it will be used for my business, the other part I wasn't sure what to do with so I wanted to research the possibility of setting up a small rescue probably working with kelpies, acd's and bc's as they are the breeds I have the most experience with.

It's something that I believe will take a long time (maybe even a few years) to get set up and ready to go, but in the meantime I want to research as much as I possibly can.
