    Default Help Needed Urgently

A good friend of mine has a beagle x husky. They had meant to have her desexed before Christmas but his partner fell extremely ill (she is still undiagnosed).

The long and the short of it is - dog is now well pregnant to god knows what. They have been back and forth to Melbourne for specialist visits.

He doesn't want the pups aborted - too late imo anyway but needs someone to whelp the bitch and desex and rehome her and the pups.

It would be lovely if the bitch could go back to them once she is desexed (at rescue costs of course) but they are not expecting that.

    Can anyone help?

Yikes! Beagle Husky? A slightly demanding sort of mix to start with...

Where abouts are they? I can ask around. PM me if you'd rather.

I am biting my tongue here. In my situation you were so scathing, how is was all about responsibility yet you are condoning and wanting to help in this one.

    Same thing, medical probs
    missed season
    too late to abort.
Is the difference because you know them personally yet anyone else in a similar situation is ripped another one by you?

I do however commend that you do want to help. I just do not understand the double standard. I hope very much that someone can help.

That's hardly biting your tongue. In your case it was all about how you were breeding a dog for you FIL . Please dont turn this thread into being about you, there are enough of those threads on the forum.

I recommended to abort the litter - just as I did with you. I think they're irresponsible...just as I thought you were. The difference is, I have said this to my friend directly - no point in bitching on here for no reason. I also dont believe you were sick when this all happened - didn't the cancer diagnosis come MUCH later? So your judgemental moment can be filed away under - who gives a ****. Perhaps in future, instead of biting your tongue, you could sit on your hands.

Whilst there are similarities the same could be said for there being a similarity between me and Clea - we both vaguely resemble human beings...

They are wanting to rehome the dog - apparently she is lovely - I will go meet her soon. They're around here in Wodonga too Nattylou. I am sure ADR will take her if it comes down to it. The positive there is that unlike private rehomings - all the vet work will be done.

It was the father in law that was ill and missed the season with HIS dog that I then took over, whelped, got to keep as mine and homed the pups and got ripped another one.

Double standards indeed, Occy by you.
As I said, I do hope someone can help as these things do indeed happen.

So, no double standard. You were healthy and irresponsible. I gave him the same advice as you - abort and desex. Is anyone really being helped by your comments in this thread? You just come across as someone who is so petty they lack simple comprehension skills to suit their own needs.

Why are you trying to use someone elses misfortune to try and even a score that doesn't exist. It's pathetic

    1. I do not condone this
    2. I recommended aborting pups - who needs a husky/beagle mongrel?
    3. I posted here to see if a rescue group could take the dog

how is this related to your case? Aside from the fact that it is an unwanted pregnancy due to carelessness?

You need to dose up on - get over yourself tablets

sad - would think you had more important concerns than a thread requesting help from a rescuer or group - something of which you are neither

Occy, contact Tam at info@beaglerescuevic.org. Tell her the story, tell her you are a friend of mine, see if she can help. Tam is a wonderful person and I am sure she will do what she can.

If the owner wants the dog back later at rescue costs, why don't they just have the pups aborted and mum desexed now rather than send her off to rescue to whelp more mongrel pups that aren't needed and put her thru that. Don't take offence to the question I genuinely don't understand why they can't do this themselves.

Behave please and keep the slinging matches to either pm's or do not do it at all

Di...your first post in this thread was from my point of view put there to get a reaction from Occy and was honestly unnessecary.

Occy...I know you were reacting, but might have been better off ignoring.

Come on guys...keep it for what this thread was for...getting some help for these people and this pregnant girl.

    Cheers
