Default Query about pet up for adoption

I am constantly amazed at the requests I get to my listings on PetRescue:

    One was:
    Phone re XXXXX ASAP !!!!!!!!

    The latest is:
    Is Nilla still available?

I grit my teeth and send a polite, friendly and informative response, but it is hard. And then 99.9% of the time, they don't respond.

What is wrong with is (insert name) still available? Would be the first question I would ask instead of giving all my spiel only to find they had a home.

I agree Di, it's a valid question, however I know if I was to make an enquiry I'd ask that but add at least "As I am very interested in meeting him/her" or "If so, I will email with further details about myself" or "If so, I will phone you for a chat".

Although I would probably add a bit more.....

My point exactly --- but then we are all different. I have only just dropped starting emails with "Dear XXXXXX"

I told the carer of Dora LOADS of stuff...where we are...what we have...that we have rescued an abused dog before...that we understand...and so on...why we want to rescue her etc

I would have added a bit more I must admit, just as Greys said. Not just the stark one liner, it would have been my first question though.

Maybe it was a short email because the huge and personal application had already been filled out several times and this person figured you would know who they were by now?

When I was on the hunt for a bowow I filled in those forums so many times and emailed inquiring every 2nd day that if the person receiving applications and emails didn't know my name I would have been pretty shocked.

    Lol@Pugger.

I have a question about this, but will start a new thread later instead of hi-jacking it here, Florence.

I don't really understand your reasoning, puggerup. How on earth would I know who she was? She hadn't enquired about one of my dogs before.
