lol, I am a really scary person.....really opinionated, stubborn and pig headed!!! But when it comes to rescue, I run my sector just like I ran my state when I was working in the real world. Everything is very methodical, logical and business like, which includes dealing with the turkeys! I simply remove the emotion and apply the logic while they are standing in front of me. But when they leave, I feel the need to punch a wall or two. You have to be able to do this though, as I have had many a surrender parent call me weeks later with another surrender as I guess they find me non-threatening.
Believe me, its all a charade to get to the end result, which is to get the poor dog safe!

OK the council is going to contact the DPI to see if they can get a clearance to release him to us early. If he does have to serve his full time, he is due for release on Saturday anyway. In the mean time, they (the council) will have their vet check out his eyes and I suggested they may like to prescribe some cortisone ointment for the boy. This will all probably work out better for us anyway as I need to organise this darn transport. Everything has to happen in the week I am moving, doesn't it?!?!?!

sorry I can't help, am trying to find transfort for a stafford from Phillip Island its a nightmare at times... You have to be level headed and remember the dog must come first, if you fly off the handle the owners 'go underground' and the dog suffers... once the dog is in my hands and safe it's a different story, as I'm sure it is with all rescue workers...

I will ask a contact of mine tomorrow about a Phillip Island to Melbourne run. When is he right to go?

PugRescue is actually on sebatical in Mildura atm. She has been a GOD SEND through this and will be at the pound door first thing Monday morning to organise his escape. He will need to be desexed and microchipped before he leaves Mildura, but I have some excellent pics of his eyes and have discussed this with our long suffering vet. We will play the wait game with his eyes given we don't want to give him a second anethsetic too soon after the first. Perhaps a 2 week rest and then its back under the knife to fix his poor sore eyes. Not the way I would have like things to work out, but hey, at least he will be alive even if he does have little vision. I suspect he will only regain 10-20% (perhaps as little as Noah) and I have to say I am a sucker for the blind ones......we shall see. He won't be moving anywhere too soon. You up for some training Netty? I would prefer he stay on site with me given his disability, so I will do what you tell me to on a daily basis if that works for you. Or.....you & OH and the pooches could come to Henry's for a mini break?????
