  1. Default Latest Rescue 20/01

Hi all... have just rescued a bitch today.... grrrr... I'm so not happy.... This was a show dog, who was rehomed apparently with no details... the original owner either can't remember or can't be bothered, its a bit hard to work out which.... she was picked up in Cranbourne by the pound... we rescued her today as her time was up, had to pay the fine and registration as she technically has an owner... she is still microchipped to original owner, they didn't want to pay the fine so handed her over to us... I really wish that the breeders details were kept on file, they should be held accountable for all dogs they bring into the world.... for their lives...... then they might think about where they send them.... I really think this dog has an owner somewhere looking for her, she is in really good condition.... anyway enough ranting....if anyone knows of someone missing about a 5 year old desexed brindle with white collar and chest stafford please let me know asap... we have a home lined up for her already....

Oh that's sad. Lucky she's going to new home but, sounds like she'll be really well loved.

Do we get pics???? And hey, at least you know her future will be perfect, can't dwell on the past or we would be aggressive nutters!!!

I picked up a pei from Cranbourne some 8 mths ago. She too was from a registered breeder and she too was neither loved nor appreciated by the woman who bought her. We got her "fixed" and she moved to Adelaide to live with Andrew. I received a call from Andrew today to tell me our lovely lady was pts this afternoon, riddled with cancer. Poor baby, at least she had 8 months of love. Far too much sadness for so many rescues of late.

So pleased your staffy lady is safe with you guys

not sure how to add pics... so sorry to hear about Andrew's girl, it is so hard to loose them... I heard a noise at the front door earlier, opened it and LeeLou was at the front door... first dog I've had manage to get out of the runs... luckily she just came up the steps to me... so she's now comfortable in a crate inside... and will be coming to work tomorrow, way to get spoilt...lol...

It's so bloody frustrating isn't it when people don't commit to dogs, but the upside is that when they are rescued everything is done to make sure they go to loving homes where they will be appreciated and loved.

SRV, sounds like she will go the home that she deserves, and Shar, I'm sorry to hear about your girl..but at least she knew love, just as this staffy girl will.

Try either photobucket or the paperclip symbol in your options to the right of fonts and sizes, thats if you have reduced you pic to no more than 100 x 100 kb

Nawty LeeLou lol, don't need to tell you how very clever some of them are. I can just see her standing there saying, "well, I am here, let me in" lol

Without going to a vet, is there another way of telling if a dog may have cancer, hunched back, weight loss, blood in poo etc?

I know with Shad's testicular cancer (no bitches around so we kept him intact till then) it was a lump. With my sister's beagle x sarcoma it is also visible lumps.
My uninformed opinion is that just like with humans it often needs tests etc to diagnose and also it depends on where the cancer is.
