Thread: Zilla

  1. Default Zilla

Have just been introduced to this site, and thought I'd share my most recent rescue story... Zilla (who I realise some of you will know of as Bobo from the Morningtong Pound)... is a stafford X... she was thought to be about 1 when her owners couldnt be bothered with her... in fact she was less than 10months old... she is very shy of people and has obviously been physically abused.... she came to my attention when I was picking up a couple of staffords for stafford rescue (we only take pure staffords) and I fell in love with her then... I asked the staff at Mornington to keep me up to date with her progress, they had a rescue to take her... unfortunatley it fell through, and I was called on her last day.... I arranged a pick up and a name change and Zilla came to stay... she was so scared no one could touch her... after a few days she began to trust me and accepted me... she stayed here for nearly 3 months during that time she came to work with me most days and was introduced to many people and situations that she hadn't been exposed to before... I was very attached and really wanted to keep her for myself, but as you all know you can't keep them all.... I had one phone call for her.. after being adv for a couple of weeks... Lisa came out to see Zilla for herself, and Zilla actually let her pat her... I almost cried on the spot... it was lovely to see her finally accept someone for herself.... anyway she's been gone a few days now, and its much quieter here without the barking everytime someone in the house moves... but I am missing her... she is doing well in her new home, and I'm now ready for the next one.....

    Hi and welcome Donna.

It must be heart wrenching to let them go but heart warming at the same time. You know, to the best of your ability, they are going to a good home and will have a good life. That must feel great. I would love to foster sometime in the future, it is a great thing you do.

Welcome, welcome, welcome Donna!!! So happy you have joined our forum, and looking forward to working along side you!!!

I run SPR in Vic and I have an extra special soft spot for Staffies. I am based in the Moorabbin area and would be delighted to help you with any yard checks etc. I often get pei x staffies in and am also on the look out for staffies in general. You have a HUGE job (as you know) so, please lean on me if I can help in any way. I am off to Morwell pound tomorrow, is there anyone there you would like me to temp test for you? Please feel free to drop me an email if there is. Cheers Amanda
