    Make a will for your dogs. Try and find someone to take them if something happens. Plenty of people choose to rescue older dogs as they're generally finished being naughty!

    I agree with ruthless, make provision for pets no matter what age you are. I've had several of my dog minding clients approach me to take on their dog/s if something should happen to them, they know I genuinely love their dogs, and the dogs love me. I've always said I will take them. I consider it to be a huge compliment.
