Hi PeiRescue, I've been slack and haven't said hello yet. Are your working with Steph?

Hi Pugger up, Yes Steph runs NSW, I run Vic, although Steph is very, very pregnant so trying to keep her free and stressless for the time being, hence why I am flying the NSW dogs down here. Nice to meet you!

I get so angry at seeing these beautiful Peis either abandoned or just plain neglected while I battle like buggery to keep my girl alive, even if I have to sit on the floor and hand feed her I wouldnt have it any other way, altho I think she plays the sookie la-la bit occasionally.
Last year, I had a ranger bring around an adorable little Pei girl, she wasnt even 2 years old & had been so badly neglected every bone in her poor little body was sticking out, she had also been allowed to have a litter, and the stench from her was just gut hurling. A friend of mine took her and we shared time with her trying to get her back to a normal size & better health & to try to clear up her skin which was a deplorable mess, to cut a long story short, circumstances changed in both of our households & I tried to rehome her locally. Every single call I got about her, all people were interested in was breeding her again so each was refused as there was no way I was going to be responsible for another group of idiots owning Peis. I had no choice but to take her to the RSPCA, I really thought they would be ab;e to get her coat back to normal, but this poor little baby didnt stand a chance, much to my horror, & a lesson well learnt, she was PTS. I still sook up when I think of the little one and I feel responsible that they took this action without even getting back to me to say there was nothing they could do for her, as I said, lesson well learnt.

Lord don't beat yourself up for the mistakes the RSPCA make Peiluver, they are an organisation that I for one often find hard to fatham as each centre seems to have its own set of rules. That being said, I have rescued 6 from a branch down here this year as well as one young lady on her way in from Sydney, so that's 2 branches that are going way out of their way to get pei into breed specific care. What I am trying to say is perhaps we are all learning from our mistakes - given each of these 7 rescues I refer to were contacts made TO me not FROM me.

Poor babies, but you have to do what I do and that is think of the future of the ones we can rehome and try not to think of the others. I know, it's hard especially with the state of health of your baby. Give her a big pei smooch from her Aunty Amanda!
